What is a Real Estate Broker?

A real estate broker is a licensed professional who acts as an intermediary between buyers and sellers in real estate transactions. They are authorized to negotiate and arrange real estate sales; this includes showing properties, listing properties, filling out contracts, listing agreements and purchase agreements. Real estate agents have additional responsibilities and skills compared to real estate brokers, such as managing their own real estate business and hiring agents to work for them.

Real Estate Licence for Broker

Brokers must have a higher level of licence than real estate agents and often require more real estate experience. They are responsible for ensuring compliance with legal and ethical practices in the sales process, and often handle more complicated transactions or manage a real estate office with multiple agents. Agents may work independently or own their own brokerage offices and are often involved in higher levels of the real estate business, including managing and training real estate agents.
